Most ducted microwave hoods come with a standard 4” ducting which will need to be changed to a 6” or 7” ducting for proper suction. Failure to change the duct will result in reduction of suction power and backdraft.
Backsplashes are often used to fill in the space behind the microwave that was originally not tiled.

The total height of this customers’ set up is much higher than the standard height therefore we needed to drop down the hood to meet the recommended height between the bottom of the hood and the top of the stove (25”-30” recommended height). Due to the dropdown there will be an exposed opening that was covered with the stainless steel panel.
Hood drop down with stainless steel panel is optional.

This basic installation process consists of removing your existing hood and replacing it with the new hood. No change to the existing ductwork. It is only applicable on hoods that currently have a 6” or larger ductwork that is already in place.
