  • Wall job — 1 hour 30 minutes
  • Roof job — 2 hours to 2 hours 30 minutes

What is the requirement for duct size?
6” round or larger. If the duct is larger, suction will improve while the noise level will decrease. If it’s less than 6”, back flow (Smoke back into the house) will occur, lose of suction power and the noise level will increase.

I have a microwave hood combo, What do I do?
You will need to replace the entire unit with a Pacific Hood. You will need to make sure there is 110 volts wiring for the range hood.  The distance from the countertop to the bottom of the cabinet is usually higher for the microwave hood combo. Therefore, you might need to have the hood lowered in order to obtain the proper distance for optimal suction. Recommended distance is 24"-30" from the top of your stove/cooktop to the front bottom of the range hood. A sweet spot would be 27".

I ran out of 6" ducts and only have 4" ducts, can I connect them? or how about making the cut out holes 6" but run a 4"duct? or how about flatten the duct so it can fit inside the walls? No. Our hoods were made with high CFM meaning extremely strong suction along with high performance and in order to do this the duct must be large enough for the air to flow through in a timely matter. Any of these situations will diminish power and create back flow (smoke back into the house)

I am not allowed to make openings to the wall of my home, is there another way?
